Kirsten Mahoney
Director, Early Childhood | Preschool - Kindergarten
Ms. Mahoney works with families and teachers to oversee the development of our youngest learners. Ms. Mahoney joined SEA in 2022 from the Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, MD where she served as Director of the Little Dragons Early Learning Program for the previous seven years.
Ms. Mahoney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies and Master of Arts in Elementary Education from West Virginia University. She also possesses a Master of Science in Educational Studies from The Johns Hopkins University. She is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the North America Reggio Emilia Association.
Mrs. Miller has been a member of the St. Edmund’s Academy community for 35 years and brings her wealth of educational expertise and institutional history to her role as Director of Lower School.
After serving as a 1st Grade teacher Mrs. Miller’s administrative career supports the day to day work of faculty, students, and their families in 1st through 4th Grade. She possesses a teaching degree from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science in School Psychology and Reading Specialist Certification from Duquesne University.
Mr. Roscher works with Upper School Faculty, students, and families, and serves as the Upper School Latin Teacher. Mr. Roscher joined St. Edmund’s Academy in 2013 as the Upper School Latin teacher. Since then he has also served the community as a 6th grade English teacher, advisor, secondary school counselor, Dean of Upper School Life, 7th and 8th Grade Class Dean, and Assistant Director.
A native of the region, Mr. Roscher earned undergraduate degrees in Classics and English from the Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh. Although his first teaching role took him to an independent school in the Chicago area to teach Latin from preschool to 12th grade, he is glad to be back in Pittsburgh.

Chad Barnett
Head of School
Dr. Barnett joined St. Edmund’s Academy as its seventh Head of School in 2014. This is his third decade in education. During that time, he has been an English teacher, a basketball coach, a dormitory parent, a Director of Admissions, the Head of School at two NAIS member schools, and a board member with the Pennsylvania Association of Independent Schools. He has personally led, taught, and coached students and teachers at every level from Preschool to graduate school. Dr. Barnett is a graduate of Bethany College with a Master of Arts from West Virginia University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
Dr. Bollens works with members of our community to oversee school operations, fundraising efforts, and community relations.
Dr. Bollens joined SEA in 2016 as Director of Institutional Advancement, and transitioned into the role of Associate Head of School for Advancement in 2022. In her time here she has overseen the school’s growth, both literally and figurately, most notably leading the Reach For Excellence capital campaign which funded the building of the Center for Integrated Discovery. Dr. Bollens has a Bachelor of Arts from Washington & Lee University, a Master of Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University, and a Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University.
Mr. Gassaway works with Faculty, students, and families to oversee our school's academic program and curriculum development. Mr. Gassaway joined St. Edmund’s Academy in 2020 as Director of Upper School and moved into the role of Associate Head of School for Academics in 2022. He joined SEA from the KIPP Foundation where he served as Director of Instructional Leadership, training and cultivating regional and school level instructional leaders. Prior to his time at KIPP, Mr. Gassaway served as a founding faculty member, Dean of Student Culture, and ultimately Principal of Coney Island Prep Middle School. Mr. Gassaway began his career in education as a middle school U.S. History, Geography, and Nonfiction Reading teacher, serving as part of Teach for America. He has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Florida and a M.A. in Education Leadership from Columbia University.
Mrs. McAllister spent her career as a finance leader in large healthcare organizations before transitioning to her role at St. Edmund’s Academy in 2006. In her role as Associate Head of School for Finance and Operations, she oversees all financial operations of the school, as well as manages facilities, security, technology, and human resources. Mrs. McAllister is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree, concentration in Accounting, from Duquesne University.

Miss Rachel is the first person you'll see when you walk into our school. Reach out to her with questions or information about:
Mr. Don welcomes every student by name each morning. He oversees our facilities and security, and ensures everyone's safety in many different ways. Mr. Hibar is a retired member of the United States Air Force, and brings decades of experience to our community.
Mr. Don works with Mr. Vitaliy, Mr. Dwayne, and Mr. Reid, and you'll see all of them either at morning arrival or afternoon dismissal.
Nurse Meghan keeps our community healthy by partnering with families, Faculty, and Staff, to oversee medication distribution, injury care, and allergy support. Nurse Meghan is a Nationally Certified school Nurse, and brings years of experience to our community.
Ms. Kingsley works with students, families, and employees to provide counseling services and advising on best practices for social, emotional, and physical wellbeing in our community. Ms. Kingsley has experience in many settings, including schools, hospitals, and social services.

Before joining SEA, Ms. Feehan was an elementary school teacher, and brings her love of teaching, camping, crafting, and organizing, to everything she does.

Ms. Neidhard works with members of our community to ensure everyone feels welcome and informed. In addition to overseeing several community events and programs, Ms. Neidhard manages SEA's social media, so you'll often see her taking photos around school.
