"Since its inception, St. Edmund’s has operated within an income derived principally from tuition charges; however, had it not been for sacrificial giving by many parents over and above tuition charges, the Academy would not be the school it is today.”

--St. Edmund's Academy Viewbook, 1957

The St. Edmund's Annual Fund

Each year, our community celebrates St. Edmund’s Academy during the The SEA Fund campaign. This campaign runs throughout the year, from July until June, allowing donors to give at their convenience. With 100% of employees and nearly all parents giving to the The SEA Fund each year, this campaign truly signifies the pervasiveness of philanthropy through the St. Edmund’s community.

Reach for Excellence Campaign for St. Edmund's Academy

It's been more than 70 years since St. Edmund's Academy was established, and we're proud of the strong foundation we've built. Our families with students in Preschool through 8th grade know what an exceptional experience St. Edmund's Academy provides. As an independent school, we combine rigorous academic curriculum with enduring Core Values and rich tradition, all in a nurturing environment.
We're ready to reach for new levels of excellence.
We've been quietly working, and we're getting closer to our goal. Now, we invite you to join our reach for excellence. Our ambitious and exciting Reach for Excellence Campaign has raised nearly $3.5 million. Your support will help us reach even further.

The 1947 Society

The 1947 Society St. Edmund’s Academy leadership giving society, was created to honor the school’s founding and to recognize the generosity of alumni, parents and friends who continue the school’s tradition of philanthropy. Donors who support St. Edmund’s Academy at $1,000 or above each fiscal year are recognized as members of the 1947 Society. Members of the 1947 Society will enjoy special benefits, such as an annual lunch with Lead Students.

Matching Gifts

Did you know you may have the ability to double (or even triple!) the size of your gift through employer sponsorship? Many local and national businesses, such as PNC Foundations, BNY Mellon, and AT&T, offer Matching Gift Programs that support the causes that matter most to employees.

To learn if your company has a Matching Gift Program, contact Meghan Bollens at 412-521-1907 x 117 or

Planned Giving

Planned gifts, in the form of bequests, trusts, and gifts of real or personal property, are suggested for donors who would like to commit to a bigger gift by combining an outright donation with deferred support. Contact the Advancement Office to discuss how you choose to leave your legacy.

The Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program (EITC) and Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit (OSTC) are two ways St. Edmund's makes its education accessible to children throughout the Pittsburgh area. These programs encourage businesses to expand their missions beyond office walls and positively impact their community’s future. Participating businesses are rewarded with substantial tax credits for making scholarship contributions to schools like St. Edmund’s Academy.
