"The Iron Trial"

Sydney ('20)
Syndey('20) reviews "The Iron Trial," a fantasty novel by Casandra Clare and Holly Black.
“Please stay in line you're about to enter level one of testing” is what the main character heard in the book The Iron Trial by Casandra Clare as he was about to enter the Volt. This book is about a young boy named Callum and his friends at the Magisterium (a school for magic). Callum and his friends know that there is more about the Magisterium’s history then the Masters would tell them. Callum and his friend set out on a journey to find out more about the Magisterium. Through this journey, they must conquer their fears and face their weaknesses. They must learn to have no fears. As they learn more about the Magisterium they get deeper and deeper into trouble. Will they ever be able to dig themselves out? Read the book to find out!

I liked this book because one of the character’s traits was courage. This character was Callum. He showed courage by for putting forth his best effort in all that he did. With his courage, he saved lives. With his courage, he was the very best that he could be. Callum showed leadership through his courage by taking people from the dark and showing them to the light. The more he learned about magic the more courage he got, and that unleashed powers and more potential to use on the battlefield.

This book is a great book because it teaches you that no matter how small or young you are you can make a difference in the world. Call made a difference by never giving up always persevering through difficult obstacles, and even saving people’s lives even with a very broken leg. If he can, so can you. I can relate to the book with my fundraising for ALS. Maeve and I are trying to make a difference in the world. Just like Call and the other Mages. You will learn a lot about making a difference in the world if you read this book. I hope that this review inspires you to make a difference in the world too.
