New Faces to SEA

Sally Patton

Ms. Sally Patton joined the SEA Advancement Team in 2025 as the Advancement Associate, supporting advancement events, alumni engagement, and fundraising support, as well as joining the group of staff members who support the Front Office, welcoming students and guests every day. Ms. Patton has worked in donor relations and communications for an international nonprofit as well as database management and administrative support for UPMC. She holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of North Alabama. While she is a new face in the Advancement Office, she is not new to our community. Ms. Patton has been an active and committed leader in our PTA for the past several years and is the proud mom of a rising 1st and 3rd Grader at SEA.

Rachel Valotta

Ms. Rachel Valotta joins our 1st Grade Team as a 1st Grade Associate Teacher. Ms. Valotta joins us from the Cyert Center where she was a teacher for two years. In her work with our 1st Grade Lead Teacher, Ms. Sarah Kintner, Ms. Valotta will support our 1st Graders by leading small groups and providing one-on-one support to students when needed. Ms. Valotta received her Reading Specialist Certification in 2021 and her BS from Duquesne University where she was also a student-athlete.
 
Each 1st Grade classroom is led by two Faculty members: Ms. Kintner will serve as a Lead Teacher working with Ms. Valotta as the Associate Teacher, and Mrs. Pham will serve as a Lead Teacher working with Ms. Norris as the Associate Teacher.

Familiar Faces in New Places

Sarah Kintner

Ms. Sarah Kintner will again be part of the 1st Grade Team, this year as a Lead Teacher! In addition to her time as an Associate 1st Grade Teacher at SEA, Ms. Kintner also served as a 2nd Grade Assistant Teacher at Shady Side Academy. She has been an important member of Wolfpack Athletics over the past few years, serving as both a Field Hockey and Lacrosse coach. Ms. Kintner received her BS in education from University of Dayton.
 
Each 1st Grade classroom is led by two Faculty members: Ms. Kintner will serve as a Lead Teacher working with Ms. Valotta as the Associate Teacher, and Mrs. Pham will serve as a Lead Teacher working with Ms. Norris as the Associate Teacher.

Amy Larsen

Mrs. Amy Larsen will serve as Major Gifts Officer, taking on new oversight responsibilities on the Advancement Team. Mrs. Larsen has been a familiar face at SEA for many years, both as a parent and as our Advancement Associate, a role she took over in 2020. In her new role, Mrs. Larsen will develop and foster relationships with SEA donors, and lead work on school fundraising campaigns. 

Mrs. Larsen has a BS in education from Miami University of Ohio and a Masters in Education - Reading Specialist from Duquesne University. Before joining SEA’s Advancement Team she was a Kindergarten and early elementary teacher at The Ellis School. Two of her children are SEA graduates.

Megan McGarry

Ms. Megan McGarry will serve as a 3rd Grade Teacher in the SEA Lower School. In addition to being an SEA parent to a rising 1st and 3rd Grader, and a dedicated member of the PTA, Ms. McGarry previously joined the SEA Faculty as a substitute teacher and then served as a long-term substitute in our 3rd Grade last year. We’re thrilled to welcome her to this role where she is intimately familiar with our community and curriculum.
 
Ms. McGarry has a B.A. in Music from Butler University and M.A. in Education from Loyola Marymount University. She has significant teaching experience and has also served as an instructional coach, assistant principal, and education consultant prior to her time at St. Edmund’s Academy.

Braelynn Norris

Ms. Braelynn Norris joins our 1st Grade team as a 1st Grade Associate Teacher. Ms. Norris  served as a long-term substitute teacher in our Early Childhood division during the 2024-2025 academic year, and prior to her work at SEA served as an Early Childhood Educator at The Goddard School and Bright Light Academy. In her work with our 1st Grade Lead Teacher, Mrs. Jennifer Pham, Ms. Norris will support our 1st Graders by leading small groups and providing one-on-one support to students when needed. Ms. Norris received her BA from Duquesne University and is currently pursuing a Masters in Early Childhood and Special Education from Carlow University.
 
Each 1st Grade classroom is led by two Faculty members: Mrs. Pham will serve as a Lead Teacher working with Ms. Norris as the Associate Teacher, and Ms. Kintner will serve as a Lead Teacher working with Ms. Valotta as the Associate Teacher.

Jacob Wolfrum

After a successful year serving as Interim Athletic Director and several years as a coach and teacher at SEA, Mr. Jacob Wolfrum will begin the school year as Athletic Director for the Wolfpack. In his role, Mr. Wolfrum will oversee all aspects of our athletic program, ensuring that our teams, coaches, and student-athletes have the support they need to compete, grow, and thrive. He is excited to strengthen partnerships and work to uphold the SEA Core Values in our Athletics program.
    
Mr. Wolfrum was a standout Division I student-athlete at Duquesne University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Education.
