Honoring Connie Martin

Connie Martin was a dedicated, compassionate, and beloved educator for over forty years.
Since joining St. Edmund’s Academy in 2021, our school has benefited from her wisdom, her commitment, and her kindness. Her impact on our community was honored in August of 2024, when she was awarded the St. Edmund's Academy Teacher Award.

An excerpt from the 2024 Teacher Award

Mrs. Martin truly sees each child for who they are, building their confidence to tackle even the most challenging tasks. She has an incredible aptitude for fostering relationships and partnerships among her students. Her classroom has an unwavering sense of community and trust, which allows her to provide individualized attention.

As a colleague, Mrs. Martin is a quiet and important leader in our community. She’s the first to handwrite a thank you note, volunteer to cover a duty, or cheer on her students after school. She is a teacher first, but a colleague and friend shortly thereafter. She remembers what is important, and makes her colleagues feel seen and appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, Connie's children, Daniel, Lizzie, and Megan, have asked that donations in honor of Mrs. Martin's life be made to St. Edmund's Academy.
Guided by our Core Values and commitment to high standards, St. Edmund’s Academy provides a diverse, inclusive, and nurturing learning community where students are known, valued, and challenged to achieve their potential.
