Welcome to After School Programs at SEA!

Our goal is to offer families the flexibility of engaging and meaningful care for their children when the school day ends. We're proud to offer a variety of options after school, giving students the chance to spend additional time with classmates and friends.

Registering for Extended Day

  • Enrollment Procedures

    • If your child is attending Extended Day, please fill out the registration form on our website. This form is crucial for this to be completed it is required.
    • You must fill out one form for each child that will attend Extended Day.
  • Payment Plans

    Daily Use Program
    • If you select the Daily Use Program, you will be billed based on how often your child attends Extended Day.
    • Pickup by 4:45 p.m. costs $18/day (half day rate), and pickup by 6:00 p.m. costs $25/day (daily rate). 
    Full Year Program
    • The Full Year Program bills $2,800 for the whole school year in two payments of $1400 in September and January. 
    • This program will provide early access to register for SEA Explorers classes, Day@SEA childcare, and Summer@SEA camp registrations.
  • Changes in Dismissal Plan

    Last-minute changes in plans happen! That's why the Extended Day program is in place to offer families flexibility. Whenever you need to send your child to Extended Day on an atypical day with same day notice, please email their teacher(s) and Miss Rachel at rachelroupp@stedmunds.net to let everyone know your child should go to Extended Day that afternoon.

    • Please text this number with any urgent needs.
    • Please refrain from calling to reserve the phone line for emergencies.
  • Hours of Operation

    • Extended Day hours of operation are from the end of the school day to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, following the school calendar.
    • Extended Day will not be held if SEA is closed for in-service days, holidays, parent teacher conferences, early closures due to inclement weather, etc.
  • ProCare

    • When you register your child for Extended Day, parents/guardians will receive an invitation to sign up for ProCare. Please sign up within one week of receiving the invitation email.
    • Please add other authorized pickups to your child’s profile, such as aunts and uncles, grandparents, childcare providers, family friends, etc.
    • Extended Day staff sign in students when they arrive to Extended Day after being dismissed from their classroom at the end of the day.
    • You can either use the app on your smartphone to sign out your child or scan the QR code at the Forbes Lobby entrance and type in your 4 digit pin to sign out your child.
    • ProCare precisely identifies the time that students are signed out so that billing is correct.

Extended Day Procedures and Policies

  • Attendance

    A student cannot attend Extended Day if they were absent from school that day or dismissed early for any reason.
  • Behavior Expectations

    While Extended Day is an opportunity for students to relax and have fun after school, they are also expected to uphold the Core Values and meet the same behavioral expectations in place during the school day.

    Parents will be notified if behavior expectations are not being met, and discussions and conversations will be held if needed.
  • Inclement Weather

    • Extended Day will attempt to have outside play time every day. Children in the program need to have boots, a pair of gloves, a hat, and a warm jacket during the cold weather months. Children are not permitted to play outside without these items.
    • Please ensure all outerwear is labeled with your child’s name.
  • Late Charges

    • Your child must be picked up by 6:00 p.m. to prevent late charges.
    • Late pick up fees will be $10 per 5 minutes.
    • Please text (412) 805-2220 if you are unable to pick up your child by 6:00 p.m. so that an Extended Day counselor can assure your child that you are safe and simply running late.
  • Personal Items

    • Please do not send any personal items such as toys or games. 
    • Please clearly label all outerwear, sweaters, water bottles, etc.
    • Students may bring in a nut-free snack of their own to enjoy during our designated snack time after dismissal. Snacks brought from home may not be shared with others.
  • Pickup Procedures

    • Please report to the Forbes Lobby to pick up your child from Extended Day.
    • Scan the QR Code posted at the Forbes Lobby entrance or use your ProCare app to sign our your child.
    • When you sign out your child, a staff member will escort Early Childhood students to the Forbes Lobby entrance, and Lower School students will walk themselves.

    • Your child must be picked up by 6:00pm to prevent late charges.
    • If your child is going to be picked up by someone other than a parent/guardian please double check that that person is listed as an authorized pickup on ProCare. Please ensure this person brings their valid state photo ID. 
  • Sample Schedules

    Early Childhood
    • 3:15 | Students are escorted by their teachers to the PreK/JrK space where they will wash their hands and be signed in on ProCare by Extended Day staff.
    • 3:15 - 3:45 | Snack, provided by the school or students may bring their own nut-free snack, with coloring and quiet time.
    • 3:45 - 4:00 | Free choice stations
    • 4:00 - 4:45 | Outside play (time will fluctuate depending on the weather)
    • 4:45 - 6:00 | Inside play

    Lower School
    • 3:25 | Students are escorted by Extended Day staff to the cafeteria where they will wash their hands and be signed in on ProCare
    • 3:25 - 3:45: | Snack, provided by the school or students may bring their own nut-free snack, with time to read or complete homework
    • 3:45 - 4:45 | Outside play
    • 4:45 - 6:00 | Inside play (time will fluctuate depending on the weather)
  • Snacks

    • We serve a snack after dismissal so that all students are nutritionally satisfied before engaging in play, going to a SEA Explorers class, or working on homework.
    • Please send your child with a reusable water bottle so that they can be hydrated.
    • You are welcome to send your child with snacks in addition to or in place of the snack provided by the school. Students may not share personal snacks.
    • All snacks are ordered through Metz.
    • We will follow the school allergy policy when providing snack.

SEA Explorers Classes

  • Schedule

    • Students attending SEA Explorers classes will also be provided a snack and participate in free play supervised by Extended Day staff, included in the SEA Explorers registration fee.
    • SEA Explorers students will not be signed in to ProCare to ensure that your family is not charged for Extended Day that day.
    • At 3:45 p.m., they will be escorted by an Extended Day counselor to their class.
    • Their instructor will escort the students to the Forbes Lobby at the conclusion of the class at 4:45 p.m.
    • Please meet your child at the Forbes Lobby at 4:45 p.m. where a staff member will dismiss your child. Please bring a valid state photo ID.
    • If your child is not picked up by 4:50pm, they will be signed in to Extended Day, and your family will be charged the half day rate ($18) if enrolled in the Daily Use Program.
  • Payment

    • SEA Explorer costs are based on the class, and will be charged and processed separately from the Extended Day payments.
    • If you select the Extended Day Full Year Payment Program to pay the flat rate, SEA Explorers payment is in addition to the flat rate to cover special supplies, instructors, etc.
    • If you select the Daily Use Program, you will not be charged for Extended Day on the days that your child attends a SEA Explorers class, unless they stay in Extended Day after the class ends. SEA Explorers classes typically end at 4:45 p.m.
