Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE)

Thank you for your interest in St. Edmund’s Academy! Our Admissions process is designed to help us get to know your child through a variety of experiences. One way we learn more about your child’s academic profile is through the Independent School Entrance Exam (ISEE). To make the process as convenient as possible, we offer several options for taking the ISEE.

List of 4 frequently asked questions.

  • Does ISEE offer accommodations?

Yes, ISEE makes every effort to accommodate students that are unable to take the ISEE under standard conditions due to a documented learning difference or health issue. You must request an accommodation before registering for the exam. Please know that the request review process can take up to one week.
  • How should my child prepare for the ISEE?

Every ISEE registrant receives access to free test preparation resources, including a full-length practice test and personalized feedback. While some students find it helpful to take the practice test to feel more comfortable, it is not required.
  • When and how will I receive my child’s scores?

Score reports will be sent directly to your ISEE parent account and they will be automatically released to any school that you choose to receive your child’s scores. You can expect to receive scores from online exams within 5 days and scores from paper exams within 10 days. Please note that the essay question and your child’s response are not shared as part of the score report to help maintain test integrity.
  • Is financial assistance available for the ISEE?

Yes, we are able to offer a fee waiver to families that find the cost of the ISEE to be a financial burden.

We're here to help!

For questions about the ISEE or to request a fee waiver, please reach out to Krista Balzer, Assistant Director of Admissions.
