Kirsten Mahoney, Director of Early Childhood

Ms. Mahoney works with the families and teachers to oversee the development of our youngest learners.
Ms. Mahoney joined SEA in 2022 from the Glenelg Country School in Ellicott City, MD where she served as Director of the Little Dragons Early Learning Program for the previous seven years. In addition to her early childhood leadership role, Ms. Mahoney spearheaded and oversaw all co-curricular and extra-curricular programming, including Extended Day, Summer Camp, and After School Enrichment. Ms. Mahoney previously served on the administrative team at Morgantown Learning Academy and began her career in education teaching at St. Francis Central Catholic School and Bruceton School in Morgantown, WV.
 
Ms. Mahoney earned her Bachelor of Arts in Multidisciplinary Studies and Master of Arts in Elementary Education from West Virginia University. She also possesses a Master of Science in Educational Studies from The Johns Hopkins University. She is an active member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children and the North America Reggio Emilia Association.
