Skills, Character, and a Competitive Spirit
St. Edmund’s Academy students find a place to develop skills, character, and a competitive spirit on the fields, courts, and wooded trails that our athletic teams call home. The goals for our athletic programs include leadership, camaraderie, persistence, and identity development--all of which are consistent with our expectation for students’ work in the classroom as well. Our athletes show the values we hold firm while pursuing their love of competition, desire for athletic success, and enjoyment of the sports they play. Coached by motivating and enthusiastic mentors—typically teachers or other members of our school community—our student athletes learn the skills, discipline, and sportsmanship needed for successful performance in sports and in the classroom. Participation in these programs is a privilege enjoyed by many of our students and greatly enhances their educational experience at St. Edmund’s. Competing against the other independent schools in the Pittsburgh area, the St. Edmund’s Academy Wolf Pack has a history of competitive excellence and a reputation for maintaining our Core Values even in the heat of spirited competition.
