Conferences

In the Upper School, two formal Parent-Teacher conferences are scheduled during the school year. Parent-teacher conferences are one of our best opportunities to collaborate around how to support each individual student and to reinforce our home-school partnerships.

The first Upper School conference date is in October and provides information to families about students’ transition to their new grade level and progress in the first quarter of the year. The second formal Upper School conference is held in January, during which the student, advisor, and parents meet to celebrate areas of growth, to address specific challenges and to discuss the status of goals set by each student at the start of the school year. This conversation is partially led by the student and serves as an opportunity to fine-tune our coordinated support of each individual student.
"Our primary reason for sending our child to SEA is the values and enthusiasm of the teachers. It is a warm welcoming environment where the teachers know all the kids’ names. I had a strong sense of community and caring that is very genuine.”
