David Roscher, Director of Upper School

Mr. Roscher works with Upper School Faculty, students, and families, and serves as the Upper School Latin Teacher.
Mr. Roscher joined St. Edmund’s Academy in 2013 as the Upper School Latin teacher. Since then he has also served the community as a 6th grade English teacher, advisor, secondary school counselor, Dean of Upper School Life, 7th and 8th Grade Class Dean, and Assistant Director.

A native of the region, Mr. Roscher earned undergraduate degrees in Classics and English from the Pennsylvania State University and a master’s degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Pittsburgh. Although his first teaching role took him to an independent school in the Chicago area to teach Latin from preschool to 12th grade, he is glad to be back in Pittsburgh.

“The promise of high standards in academics is what first drew me to St. Edmund’s Academy. I have made my home here, though, because of the ways that those high standards couple with our other Core Values on a daily basis to honor the dignity of the individual. It is this emphasis on character development that I find so rewarding and — in the context of the tumult of today’s society — so refreshing."
