“When we were looking at schools, SEA had a great community of families.  It felt like a welcoming enrionment for my children where the families and teachers cared about my kids, and the school had a strong academic reputation.”

A Letter from the PTA President

Hello Friends of St. Edmund’s Academy,

Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!

I am excited to be the PTA President during this exciting year of growth at St. Edmund’s Academy! My husband Ted and I are the parents of five St. Edmund’s Academy students, grades Kindergarten, 1, 4, 6, & 8. As you can see, we are SEA enthusiasts!

What excites me most as PTA President is working with you -- our parents, teachers, staff, families, and friends in creating events for our children that are fun and memorable. The SEA PTA helps bring us together. All parents and guardians of children currently enrolled at St. Edmund’s Academy are automatically members of the PTA, as are the Head of School, all faculty, and Board Members.

The PTA’s events are planned with our children and families in mind, and it is our hope that you will be involved by attending events, having fun, sharing your talents, and helping out in any way that you can. Our events are meant to give families an opportunity to be together. We organize the running of the events using committees. Please follow this link to access the PTA Volunteer Form.

This year’s events include:

  • The Wolf Pack 3K in October (led by families in Grades 3-6)
  • The Book Fair & Community Dinner in December (led by families in Grades 1-3)
  • BINGO for Books in February (led by families in Early Childhood)
  • The very fun Spring Carnival the beginning of June (led by families in Grades 4-7)
We also come together as a school community to thank our faculty and staff throughout the year by providing two breakfasts and gifts.

The PTA is a success because of all of you! Involvement is encouraged at any level, and there are many creative ways to do this. As well as attending events, perhaps you can sign up as a homeroom parent, help in the PTA store, shelve books in the library, take a shift as a cashier during the Book Fair, pass out popcorn at the Carnival, or stuff envelopes from the comfort of your couch! Finding time is challenging, and for this reason our volunteer opportunities can be ongoing or one-off; whatever suits your schedule. Becoming involved creates new friendships and gives you a greater understanding of what is happening at St. Edmund’s Academy. I look forward to creating, planning, celebrating, AND making memories with you soon.

Please feel free to reach out to me at any time at PTA@stedmunds.net.

I hope you have a terrific school year!

Warmly,

Rhodora Noethling
PTA President
