Grades 1 - 8 Admissions

We're happy that you're exploring admission for your child to St. Edmund's Academy in Grades 1-8!  Admission to these divisions is dependent on space availability, but we encourage you to inquire about your grade level of interest.  Students transfer into our school during these grades for a number of reasons including increased academic challenge, smaller class sizes, a more welcoming and inclusive social environment, or geographic relocation.  Regardless of the reason, we will work closely with you to determine the best path forward, providing support at every turn.  We look forward to meeting you and your child soon!

Admissions Process Timeline

  • Grades 1 - 8 - Fall 2019

    Inquire - Contact the Admissions Office at 412-521-1907 x121 or complete the online inquiry form to receive an informational packet about St. Edmund's Academy

    Tour - Schedule a personal tour of the school where you can learn more about the school's philosophy and practice.  You can use our online scheduler or contact the Admissions Office at the number listed above. 

    Apply - Apply online or submit a paper application by mail with a $50 application fee

  • Grades 1 - 8 - Winter 2019-2020

    Collect Paperwork (forms are available for download below) - 
    • Two teacher recommendations - you can give these forms directly to your child's teacher and they will return them to us
    • Academic records - please give a signed Release of Records form to your chld's current school and they will forward the necessary records to us

    Schedule a Visit - Students can attend one of our schedule Student Visitation Days listed below (registration is required) or contact the Admissions Office to schedule a different day to visit.  
    • December 10, 2019
    • January 14, 2020
    ISEE Entrance Exam (NOT required for students applying to First Grade) - Register to take the ISEE exam here.  Contact the Admissions Office at 412-521-1907 x141 to receive the code to our private testing event on Saturday, February 1.

    Admissions applications must be completed by February 15, 2020

  • Grades 1 - 8 - Early Spring

    The Admissions Committee will review all completed admissions applications and notify families of admissions decisions.  Decisions are based solely on the availability of space and the strength of the match between the child, family goals, and the school.  Families applying for Grades 1 - 8 will be notified of admissions decisions on March 2, 2020.

Student Visitation Days (you may register students to attend both but only one is required)

ISEE Admissions Test (registration required) - Saturday, February 1, 2020
  • Not required for applicants to Grade 1
Financial Aid Application Deadline - February 10, 2020

Application Deadline - February 15, 2020

Admissions Decision Notification - March 2, 2020

Information Sessions
Parents of prospective Preschool - 8th Grade applicants for the 2020-2021 school year are invited to a panel presentation to learn about St. Edmund’s Academy from our faculty, students, parents, and young alumni.
