Our Promises to You

At St. Edmund’s Academy, we educate students to boldly and compassionately take the lead in a world transformed by technology and social change—where new opportunities require a solid moral foundation and even greater analytical, creative, and collaborative skills.  We prepare them to set high standards, assume personal responsibility, appreciate differences, and respect the needs of others—timeless values for transformational times.
St. Edmund’s Academy offers time and space for children to play, learn, grow, and establish their identities & cognitive skills in an environment where our Core Values unite our diverse community.  This diversity enriches our students’ education and makes them kinder and more perceptive—ideal training to stand for civility in the world.

We achieve this ambitious standard for children through piercing clarity around who we are, what we stand for, why it matters, and where we are headed.

Our promises to you are simple.  They begin with our commitment to know and care for your children--personally, emotionally, and intellectually.

From there we set out to deliver everyday on a fairly broad mission that is further clarified through a set of guiding principles.

Our Core Values establish a time-honored set of character traits that define our school's culture and give rise to our climate, while our Core Competencies define the habits of mind, disposition, and ways of knowing that shape our academic program.

Finally, our strategic priorities reflect a comprehensive, community-wide, planning process lasting 18 months and led by Pat Bassett, former President of the National Association of Independent Schools.

These ideas shape our philosophy and practice and this is our promise to your family and to ourselves.
