Some of the reasons why our teachers say they love teaching at St. Edmund’s Academy:

  • I most enjoy the sense of community that is felt at SEA.  That feeling energizes me daily to work to make SEA an even better school for our students, employees, and families.
  • The faculty and administration is supportive of all that I do.  They are always there to help me grow and become the best teacher I can be.
  • I love the community feel of the school.  There is a special relationship between the teachers, students, families, and the school community as a whole that make teaching here a wonderful experience.
  • The opportunity to practice my craft without outside-mandated interference.  I can modify and change the curriculum to keep things fresh for me from year to year while adjusting it to meet the various needs of the learners in my classroom.
  • When I first arrived at St. Edmund’s to interview, after leaving I knew it was the job I really wanted.  I love the small community we have developed.  I am trusted to do my job and I love partnering with families to help their children grow into wonderful little people.
  • By far, the kids!  It’s nice to work in an environment where people are positive, teachers are PASSIONATE about what they teach, and the students love to learn!

Relocating to Pittsburgh?

Pittsburgh has been getting national attention for being an overall awesome place to visit, work, and live.  Named the “Most Liveable City” six times since 2000, the accolades for our fine city don’t stop there.  Conde Nast named Pittsburgh one of the Top 15 Places to Go in 2015 (along with the likes of Cape Town and Cuba).  We’re a pretty humble town, but this list of honors and recognitions that we’ve been awarded makes it difficult.
