Foreign Languages
Spanish and French begin in fifth grade, following the Lower School exposure
to languages in each grade’s World Cultures’ class. St. Edmund’s Academy
students consistently place in the top 10% in foreign language tests nationally
and, for many years, St. Edmund’s Academy students individually have scored
among the top three foreign language students in the country. In recent years,
Spanish students have traveled with a group to Costa Rica for a summer period.
French students travel to Quebec.
In addition to French and Spanish, Latin is required in seventh and eighth
grades.
