SmartBoards & Technology

Each classroom at St. Edmund’s Academy is wired with the latest technology tools including new Dell desktop computers and interactive whiteboards called SmartBoards. Classroom lessons and activities involve the SmartBoards, allowing students to become more actively involved in learning, creating a 21st century classroom environment. Innovative, creative and age-appropriate software is installed on our computers, which have wireless Internet connectivity and access to the school’s server. The school Computer Lab is equipped with 18 desktop computers. Students in Preschool - 4th Grade have a weekly Computer class, which supplements their traditional classroom curriculum. 4th Grade students also have a weekly Keyboarding class. Upper School students have access to 64 laptop computers (brought to their classrooms on carts) for independent research and writing assignments. 16 additional desktop computers in classrooms and the library are used by students for library research and by teachers for additional support and to provide alternative learning tools.
