PTA

The St. Edmund's Academy Parent Teacher Association oversees a wide variety of fundraising events, social gatherings, and services that enhance the quality of the school and help to bring students, parents, and faculty closer together. All parents and guardians of children currently enrolled at St. Edmund's Academy are automatically members of the PTA. The Head of School and Associate Head of School are PTA members, as are all faculty and board members. Money earned through PTA fundraising is returned to the school in the form of gifts that enhance school activities and academic programs. Such gifts benefit a majority of the student population and consist of items not covered in the school's operating budget.

Officers of the PTA are chosen through nominations each spring. A Nominating Committee meets to review and complete a slate of officers for the coming school year. Officers are required to attend monthly PTA Board Meetings and support PTA sponsored events. In September and May, PTA general meetings take place. The entire St. Edmund's Academy community is invited to attend to learn about upcoming PTA-sponsored school events.

All parents, guardians, family, and friends are encouraged to participate in PTA events such as the Family Picnic, Holiday Bazaar, and Carnival. Individuals are also needed to volunteer in the library and PTA Store, help with the Book Fair, provide refreshments for Open Houses and Faculty/Staff Appreciation Breakfasts, and serve as Homeroom Parents. During fall Curriculum Nights, parents can sign up to help their respective Homeroom Parents plan and implement special events in the classroom throughout the school year. Anyone interested in volunteering can complete a Volunteer Sign Up Form distributed at the beginning of the school year.

The St. Edmund's Academy PTA Store is the exclusive resource for second-hand uniform items and St. Edmund's Academy logo sweatshirts (navy, maroon or gray) which can be worn to/from school and for School Spirit Dress Down Days. The PTA Store sells new school ties as well as school supplies, snacks and other SEA logo items such as t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc.
