School Uniform
“A uniform makes you look at the person instead of what he or she is wearing.” -St. Edmund's Academy 6th Grade Student
Wearing a school uniform is a valued tradition at St. Edmund’s Academy and has long instilled pride in being part of the St. Edmund’s Academy community. A school uniform adds to an atmosphere conducive to learning, as clothing is not a distraction. The school dress code is intended to accommodate the active school lives of our students, while distinguishing between school and leisure time. All clothing is expected to be kept clean, neat and in good repair, with the student’s name clearly marked on each item.

P.E./Gym Uniforms

Over the course of the year, there are several dress down days. They are called by:

- The Head/Associate Head as a reward or celebratory moment
- A classroom teacher for that specific grade only when a scheduled activity or field trip requires more casual clothing
- The 8th grade, as a privilege, one per month, and for that grade only
The School reserves the right to require changes in apparel or appearance that have been determined to be distracting such as body piercings, tattoos, hair styles, and hair color.
Lost & Found
It is first and foremost the parents’ responsibility to ensure that their children’s clothing and various belongings are clearly marked with the child’s name. The school will make every reasonable effort to see that “lost” items are returned to their owners. Parents and students may inquire in person at the Front Office or look in the “Lost & Found” boxes located in the locker rooms and around the school. At the end of the last week of each semester, all unclaimed, unmarked and “lost” items will be given either to the PTA Store for resale or sent to Goodwill.
