Contraction Surgery

Is there a doctor in the house? A “contraction doctor” that is! It’s time for a little word surgery. Our St. Edmund’s Academy 1st Grade “surgeons” grabbed their masks and their scalpels (scissors) and trimmed away some extra letters from words. Then, they bandaged them back together to make a new shortcut word such as can’t, couldn’t, won’t, wouldn’t...it’s time for CONTRACTION SURGERY!
