Willy Wonka once said, “Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% electricity, 4% evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple.”  Even without the butterscotch, the 4th Grade inventions displayed at the St. Edmund’s Academy Invention Convention were definitely, SWEET! After studying a unit about inventions and their inventors, students spent six weeks working through the same process that many famous inventors have done in the past. Students identified a problem or need, developed a plan for creating their invention, drew a blueprint, built their invention, and developed an advertisement for their product. There was an invention for everyone: dogs, kids, the elderly, the injured and even lefties!
