Announcements:
From the Field House - The Upper School students will continue with archery during the month of February. So far all students have survived. Basketball fundamentals and games will finish out the month. As usual, there will be birthday picks.
Basketball Practice is from 3:30 to 5:00 p.m. for both girls and boys. Students who not picked-up by 5:15 p.m. will be sent to Extended Day and families will be charged accordingly.

St. Edmund's Academy Basketball Tournament: Show your school spirit and wear something gray in support of the St. Edmund’s 8th grade boys’ and varsity girls’ basketball teams, as they compete in the annual St. Edmund’s Basketball Tournament on Saturday, February 11th. Boys’ games begin in the Field House at 9AM and girls’ games begin at 2PM. The PTA will sponsor a concession stand during this event with profits benefitting both the SEA Athletics Department and the SEA PTA.The PTA is looking for volunteer help at the concession stand. If you would be interested in working a shift, please contact Jennifer Muse at jjmuse5437@gmail.com or 412-422-0921.
Upper School Spelling Bee - Fifteen students from grades 5 through 8 qualified for the Upper School Spelling Bee. The Spelling Bee will be held on Friday, February 3 in the Hillman Auditorium. Mr. Jim Sciulli will return to SEA to serve as the pronouncer of the Spelling Bee. The school winner will advance to the Scripps Howard Spelling Bee on Saturday, March 17. Parents and guests are invited to join the Upper School students and faculty for the spelling bee. The Spelling Bee will begin promptly at 2 p.m.
Upper School Skating Party - The annual Upper School Skating Party is scheduled for Monday, February 13 from 4 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. at Schenley Park Skating Rink. This is a FREE DRESS DOWN DAY for the Upper School. Please sign up in your homeroom and pay in advance: admission ($3) and skate rental ($2.50) - if you need to rent skates. Transportation to and from the Schenley Park Skating Rink - Overlook Drive - is NOT PROVIDED.
Please note: ADMISSION is NOT FREE!
Parents and younger siblings are invited, too. Adult admission: $4 and younger siblings can pay at the door. Please note, this is a Public Skating Session. Mrs. Harbist and St. Edmund's Academy faculty and parent volunteers will be at the rink to provide supervision. In the case of an emergency, we will have student emergency medical forms with us.
Notes from Mr. Flynt - We send a great big THANK YOU to all the students and families who braved the wintry weather to attend the Winter Concert. We have begun working on material for the Fine Arts Festival in May. New members to the Chorus are welcome through the end of February.
