Community Service Projects
PreKindergarten: PreKindergarten created Christmas cards for the shut-ins at The Church of Redeemer and created Hanukkah cards for the Silver Sneakers at the Jewish Community Center.
Kindergarten: Kindergarten sponsored a school-wide "Personal Care Drive"for those less fortunate living in our Pittsburgh Community by collecting many necessities of cleanliness and good health, which we sometimes take for granted.
Grade 1: Grade 1 does a Read and Feed through the Heifer International project. The parents donated money for each book read. This money was donated and was used to purchase goats for needy families in Africa.
Grade 2: Grade 2 participated in a project with Ten Thousand Villages to donate school supplies to send to children in Iraq.
Grade 3: Grade 3 continues their relationship with the residents of the Commons of Squirrel Hill. They remember them each month with an art activity designed specifically for them. These are used to decorate the recreation room.
Grade 4: Grade 4 participates in the “Stash the Trash” clean-up program in the Squirrel Hill area sponsored by the City of Pittsburgh. Grade 4 also makes boxes for the children at the Women's Center in Pittsburgh. They fill these boxes with supplies children will need and decorate them in vibrant colors in hopes putting cheer and joy into other children's lives. Grade 4 also sold t-shirts for Ninos del Lago, an organization to raise aid for children in Guatemala.
