St. Edmund’s Academy includes more than one might expect based on what might be observed on a casual walk through its Squirrel Hill neighborhood. Three levels connected by two skywalks accommodate classrooms and much more. The St. Edmund’s Academy library holds more than 12,000 volumes. The school also includes two science labs, a 218-seat auditorium, two art studios, a well-equipped music room, a large field house, and two athletic fields. For computer learning, the school is equipped with a Dell PC technology center and MAC computers for student use. Additionally, 40 laptops are available to students in the Upper School for use as roaming labs in the upper school classrooms. These laptop computers utilize the wireless Internet that is available for the Upper School classrooms. Each of the Lower School classrooms are equipped with Dell student PCs that allow the teachers to incorporate technology into the classroom environment. In total computers are available to students on a 1:3 ratio.
