PTA Announcements

August 22, 2010

Dear Parents, Faculty, and Staff,

I hope you managed to enjoy at least a few lazy days of summer and that you are now recharged and once again ready to turn your thoughts to St. Edmund’s Academy.  As always, the coming year promises to be a busy one, particularly with the prospect of some new PTA fundraising ideas in the works.  I will keep you posted as the details are established, but in the meantime, I welcome your input and participation in all PTA-related endeavors!
As we start the school year, an obvious change is the PTA’s primary method of communication with you.  Results from last year’s Communications Survey indicated that the majority of SEA community members would prefer to receive school information by email.  For that reason, this email will serve as a replacement for the PTA information packet that is traditionally sent out by U.S. Postal Service at the start of the school year.   As part of this email, please find the following:

  • A sign-up form for the Family Picnic to be held on Friday, September 10th from 4-6:30PM

  • A sign-up form to arrange for childcare on the afternoon of September 10th, prior to the Family Picnic
  • A Volunteer Form to sign up for ways to get involved in activities organized by the PTA, as well as the Admissions and Development Offices.

  • The 8 Great Ways Flyer - A guide to supporting SEA fundraising

I encourage you to print out and complete the enclosed sign-up forms and return them to school at your earliest convenience.  These forms can also be found in the PTA section of the SEA website.  Hard copies are located in the school’s front office and will be made available near the PTA Store during the Meet and Greet sessions on Thursday, August 26th.

In addition to the Family Picnic on September 10th, with this email, I would also like to highlight the following two PTA events that I hope you will attend and support respectively:

  • On Thursday, September 16th, the PTA will host a Welcome Coffee after the first Chapel Service.  Our first of two General PTA Meetings will take place immediately following the coffee.  All are invited to attend!

  • On Wednesday, September 22nd, information on the Sally Foster Fundraiser will be sent home in backpacks.  The sale will have a new online focus this year.  Thank you in advance for your support!

There are many ways to get involved at St. Edmund’s Academy.  I especially encourage you to take the time to review the attached volunteer form listing various opportunities.  The involvement of parents, faculty and friends is what makes St. Edmund’s so special.
Please feel free to call or email me at anytime with questions and/or suggestions.  I look forward to working with you again this year!

Sincerely,
Jennifer Muse
